Digital Leaders

Base Williams, along with the rest of Hub 10, have spent most of the 2018 year delving into a wonderful Manaiakalani Cybersafety curriculum and are now relishing the challenge of using blogging as a tool to share their learning and their voices, with the world.

As blogging gained momentum, many of our learners started to get excited at the potential blogging had for allowing them a wider audience.  Our Year 7's had a great brainstorm session in Week 6, developing ideas of learning objects we could 'Learn, Create, Share' on our blogs.  Exciting times ahead.

Our learners are learning how to be not just connected, and navigating in cyberspace as Digital Citizens, they are moving towards the experience of being Digital Leaders.  Read more about Digital Leaders vs Digital Citizens at this link.  Watch this space.

  2. Kia ora Base Williams learners,
My name is Tania and I am the Manaiakalani Outreach Facilitator who sets up Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu, our blogging programme. It's great to have your class on board this term. I live in Whangarei, which is a LONG way away from where you live in Gisborne. Have any of you ever heard of Whangarei or been to Whangarei. You could check it out on Google Maps and see how far away it is. I am looking forward to checking out your class blog this term and leaving comments for you. I might try hard to check out some of your individual blogs too. I hope you enjoy having another class to blog with from Kaitaia (that is even further away than me!). Have fun learning, creating and sharing!
    Ngā mihi
    Tania

Thank you for your positive, thoughtful, helpful comments.
Positive - something done well
Thoughtful - a sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what they had to say
Helpful - give some ideas for next time or ask a question you want to know more about
